Elizabeth C. Horne

Elizabeth Horne, age 98, went to be with her Lord on September 24, 2016. A native of Pensacola, FL, she formerly lived in Panama City, FL, Montgomery, AL, Selma, AL, and Tallahassee, FL. She was a Registered Nurse graduating from Sacred Heart Nursing Program in Pensacola, FL. She nursed at Adams Hospital in Panama City, FL, Baptist Hospital in Pensacola, FL and Jackson Hospital in Montgomery, AL for a total of 40 years. After retiring from hospital nursing she continued doing private duty nursing for a number of years. She enjoyed cooking and crafts especially baking cakes.

Elizabeth is survived by her two daughters; Charlene Kelly of Tallahassee, FL and Debra Smith and her husband Scott Smith of Pensacola, FL; 9 grandchildren: grandsons, Charles Jr., Scott, and Kevin Kelly; Marc and Bruce Horne; granddaughters; Tracy Endress, Beth Beaird, Susan Parkerson, Laura Williams, and many great-grandchildren.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years Charles Horne; her mother and father Mr. and Mrs. Joseph T. Colvin Sr.; brother, J. T. Colvin, Jr., sister, Lorene Colvin, and son in-law, Terry Horne.

The family would like to recognize the Ralph and Ernestine Connell family for their loving support of Elizabeth.

Graveside services will be on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016, at Bayview Memorial Park, 3351 Scenic Highway, at 1:00 pm.
