

Elizabeth was born on May 26, 1930 in Evergreen, Alabama, to her parents, George Dewey and Janie Thelma Stewart. She married Elvin C. Ryals in 1947 and together had two children, Larry E and Phillip V Ryals.
Elizabeth worked as a licensed beautician for 25 to 30 years. She owned Ensley Beauty Salon and Merle Norman makeup business. She not only was a fabulous person, but strived to help others look and feel beautiful on the inside as well as the outside.
Elizabeth was known for her loving and gentle qualities. She loved her family, friends and church. Her hobbies included being a part of her church, signing at Fidelas with Bluegrass music, volunteering with a singing group who visited local nursing facilities, hiking, cooking, playing tennis, knitting, bird watching and traveling throughout the United States in their motorhome.
Elizabeth is survived in life by her children; Larry (wife, Tammy) Ryals. Her grandchildren, Melissa R. Deveney (husband, Todd) and Jaime Boggs Placenick. Great grandchildren, Noah S. Deveney (wife, Kierston), Ethan P. Deveney and Petra Placenick. She had four great-great grandchildren, Sawyer, Dakota, Everett and Warren Deveney.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Elvin C. Ryals (2018); her son, Philip V. Ryals (1986); a grandson, Christopher B. Ryals (2024); granddaughter, Debra Jo Ryals; brothers, George, William, and Clarence; sisters, Margaret, Margie, Nellie and Carolyn.
A visitation will be held at Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home, located at 1985 West Nine Mile Road, Pensacola, FL, on November 16, 2025, at 11:00 am, with a celebration of life at 12:00 pm.
The family wishes to thank all of the caregivers at Sodalis Cantonment Assisted Living Facility and Vitas Healthcare for their compassion and kindness to our adored mother and grandmother.
