Elsie "Butch" Thornton of Pensacola, FL passed away peacefully at Palatka Haven Hospice on November 2, 2016. She was born to Perry Riley and Ola Blum Pitts on September 26, 1923. Elsie retired from Escambia General Hospital as a registered nurse. She is survived by son, Michael James Perry Thornton, daughter, Karen Charlene Alexander, 7 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. A visitation will be held Friday, November 11, 2016 from 10-11 am with a funeral service to follow at 11 am at Oak Lawn Funeral Home Chapel. An interment will be at Pleasant Grove Cemetery following the funeral service. Oak Lawn Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
