I grew up in the Philippines and I do not have early memories of Tita Lita except from what Nanay told me.
Tita Lita used to take care of me as a small child while my mother will be busy working . People used to think I was her child as I used to wear clothes that matched her's. Nanay used to use the retaso of her dress to make one blouse for me. As a small child they said I used to be very jealous of Luz. I wanted her full attention.
Now as a grown up I spent some time with her few years back when we had family reunion in Florida. I came to know the real person after her many years of stay in US. She was such a warm and joyful person. That time she already had many medical issues but that did not stop her jolliness, which was contagious.
I don't know if I expressed my gratitude Tita Lita for all your help in my education. For financing a motor I needed . I thank you for being generous despite you having growing kids during those years.
On behalf of our family we pay our respects to you. My mom who looked up to you with much love. My ate Daisy. Regin and Joy. Rest in peace Tita. We love you

I will miss our lively phone conversations and recalling our family history. I hope I have let you know how grateful I am to you for being not just my sister, but a mother to me. You listened, counseled, and connived with me! I loved you for all the memories of your making me feel special when I would celebratey birthday as a kid! I will miss you very much, Ateng.
