

Born to Joseph Elliott Scott and Marie Freeny Scott on November 24, 1941 in Longview, MS. A graduate of Central High School, Jackson, MS. Retiring as a Senior Chief in the US Navy (Dec 1960 to Mar 1990), he enjoyed flying as a private pilot (1970), retired as an airplane mechanic for Teledyne Continental at the Fairhope Airport. Over the years, he has flown hundreds of kids with the Young Eagles/EAA organization out of Ferguson Airport and other participating airports.
He is preceded in death by his parents. Joseph and Marie Scott and the love of his life, Mary Virginia Coor Scott (almost 41 years of marriage).
He is survived by his devoted daughters, Lynn Scott and Lori Scott, both of Pensacola, FL.
The family would like to thank the Nurses and Staff of Covenant Care for the care and compassion they showed our father and family during his final days, as well as all of our family and friends, AmVets Post 292, Ladies Auxiliary and Riders.
Visitation will be Monday, December 18, 2023 from 4pm to 6pm at Oaklawn Funeral Home located at 619 New Warrington Rd, Pensacola, FL 32506.
Burial will be 10am on December 19, 2023 at Barrancas National Cemetery located on NAS Pensacola for graveside service. For those wishing to go to the Cemetery, Oaklawn Funeral Home requests you be lined up in the procession by 930 on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at the funeral home.
