1933 - 2013
Floyd Perry Foster, Jr., 79 passed away April 19, 2013 at his home in Pensacola, Florida. Floyd was born September 21, 1933 to Floyd and Twila (Sims) Foster in Lincoln, Nebraska, the second of two children. He married his beautiful bride, Doris Elizabeth Foster, October 7, 1955 in Pensacola, Florida.
He attended Ohio State University and Pensacola State College. Floyd served in the United States Navy. He retired from (NADEP) Pensacola Naval Air Station in 1993 as a general foreman. Floyd always loved the outdoors whether hunting or fishing. After retiring, he enjoyed it even more because he could spend more time with his family doing those things. He also enjoyed crabbing, he and his bride would walk for hours in search of those blue crabs.
Floyd is survived by his loving wife of 57 years; along with five children: Rick and (Cathy) Foster of Pensacola, Mark and (Lorna) Foster of Pensacola, Florida, John and (Kelly) Foster of Gulf Breeze, Florida, Brad and (Shannon) Foster of Pace, Florida, and Dina and (Jerome) Doyle of Pensacola, Florida: his sister Barbara and (George) Cline: 19 grandchildren: 13 great-grandchildren and many other living nieces, nephews and relatives. He is proceeded in death by his parent's Floyd and Twila Foster; grandson Bryse Edward Foster.
Funeral services, officiatied by Pastor Gordon Godfrey, will be held at 12:30pm today, Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at Oak Lawn Funeral Home, 619 New Warrington Road, Pensacola, FL 32506, with visitation one hour prior. Burial will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery. Oak Lawn Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
