Frances Victoria Hamilton Sansing, 91, of Gulf Breeze, died Wednesday, February 09, 2011.
Mrs. Sansing was born February 04, 1920 in Odenville, Alabama to Taub Hamilton and Amanda Neely Hamilton. Following graduation from St. Clair High School in Odenville, Alabama, Mrs. Sansing attended Auburn University where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Home Economics. In 1941, while attending Auburn, she was crowned the Harvest Queen. She had an entrepreneurial spirit that led to many endeavors. Mrs. Sansing was a talented seamstress, who for many years prepared costumes for the Fiesta of Five Flags Court. She was an avid golfer, whose love of the game found her on the course with her women’s group and participating in many local tournaments. She was a talented artist, who in her later years devoted much of her time to painting and jewelry design, attending and competing in many regional art shows, winning many blue ribbons. She stayed very active in the Arts these last 20 years. Mrs. Sansing was an accomplished musician and pianist, playing piano for multiple Sunday School Classes.
She was a member of the Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church where she was active in her Sunday School Class and choir. Mrs. Sansing was an active member of many organizations including, The Gulf Coast Friends Association, the Gulf Breeze Arts Council and the Driftwood Garden Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arthur Clayton Sansing; and her sisters and brothers, Pauline, Russell, Cecilia, Ina Mae, Hoyt and Hazel.
Survivors include her son, Robert “Sandy” Sansing and wife, Peggy; daughters, Rebecca Sansing Echezabal and husband Jim; and Denise Sansing Beard and husband Scott; grandchildren, Stephanie White and husband Frank, David Sansing and wife Lauren, Chris Echezabal and wife Reva, Courtney Sansing Echezabal, Matthew Echezabal and wife Cloé; great grandchildren, Henry and Clayton White and Zia Echezabal.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 12, 2011 at Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church with Dr. Herb Sadler officiating.
Interment will follow at Bayview Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, February 11, 2011 at the funeral home.
