Arrangements have been entrusted to Eastern Gate Memorial Gardens Funeral Home,1985 W Nine Mile Road, Pensacola, FL 32534, on March 4, 2025. Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. and funeral service at 11:00 a.m. A graveside service will follow.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Deborah (Hurlin) Sonnier.
He is survived by his two brothers Paul (Mary Lee) Jones and Lee (Dorothy) Jones, his daughter Cathy (Matt) Felling of Pensacola and stepchildren Kim (Craig) Bryan, Rhonda (Jesus) Garcia, Carey (Renee) Kirkland, as well as 15 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Fred was employed and retired after 40 years from Armstrong World Industries. He loved his country, serving in the United States Army. He was a long-time member of Pensacola Sunrunners Motorcycle Club and loved giving anyone a ride on his Goldwing.
Fred was also an avid golfer. He was a member of Scenic Hills Golf Club and Cypress Lakes Golf Club, as well as being a dedicated Florida State Seminoles Fan (Go Noles!!).
On the golf course, Fred swung a mean club but often found himself behind his wife, Claudia. Fred was never too proud to give her glory. He often bragged about her getting two holes in one.
On a typical day you could find Fred making repairs for friends and family as he could fix almost anything!
Fred loved the Lord and was an active member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.
Fred will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
