Mr. Yoder was freed Monday morning from a lengthy battle with A.D. Bill was born and raised in Elkhart, Indiana and served our Country in the Air force during the Korean War. He was a long-time resident of Mishawaka, IN and a graduate of I.U.S.B., as well as the Indiana State Police Academy. Bill and his wife, Mimi, moved to Gulf Breeze, Florida in the early 1980’s where he worked for and retired from, the Santa Rosa County School System.
He lived a full life prior to his illness, as an avid Moto Guzzi rider, and through his memberships in “Nik-Nak’s Pack”, the Pensacola Beach Elks Club, Pensacola Beach Yacht Club, Captain Fun’s Runners, VFW Lodge 4407 and the American Legion.
Mr. Yoder was preceded in death by his wife of 33 years, Emily Kirkman Yoder. He is survived by his daughters, Linda Anderson, Panama City Beach and Carla Courtney, Gulf Breeze; granddaughters, Laura Harper, Columbus, GA and Melissa Oakes, Olathe, KS; one great granddaughter and two great grandsons. Bill’s brother, Vern, resides in Dunnellon, FL; brother, Tom in Osceola, IN and his sister, Charlotte Mast in Goshen, IN.
While his family will mourn in private, their sincere request to his friends and well-wishers is that they honor his memory through donations to Covenant Hospice of Pensacola, 5041 N. 12th Ave., Pensacola, FL 32504 and to the Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 96011
Washington, DC 20090-6011, to find a cure for this insidious disease.
