She was preceded in death by her father B.B. Bell, mother Estelle Funk, step-father William S. Funk and grandson Brandon McArthur.
Arvenia retired from the Monsanto Pensacola plant in 1989 where she was employed for more than 35 years. During her work years, she was an avid seamstress making outfits of all types for family and friends. She supplemented her income by making custom silk sheet sets and selling them to many co-workers at the Monsanto plant. She once shared that during those times no matter what shift she was working, she sewed every day. Her family members enjoy and cherish her handiwork to this day. After retiring, she and Granville built a river house on Tensaw Lake and enjoyed many days fishing and hosting friends and family.
She enjoyed planting flowers, fruit trees, and riding around on her golf cart to enjoy all of the blooms and fruits. Arvenia was a wonderful cook and some of her specialties were rice with tomato gravy and banana pudding. One thing she loved to make was Divinity Candy and she could always turn it out whether rain or shine!
