Genevieve Pratt Weber, known as “Cawee” to her family, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 27, 2018, at her home in Milton, FL at the age of 98. Genevieve is survived by her daughter, Vicki Carpenter (Ron), her grandchildren, Cheri Kaniper (Sean), Ryan Carpenter (Hazel), and Tammy Osmialowski (Jim), and her 12 great grandchildren: Kyle, Brett, Justin, Aidan (Kaniper), Taylor, John, Josh, Jace, Joseph (Osmialowski), and Isabella, Christina, Tori (Carpenter). She is preceded in death by her husband, John, and her two sons Billy and David.
Genevieve was born in Paris, TX on December 11, 1919 to William and Ada Mae (McClelland) Pratt. She was raised on a farm with her 8 older siblings. In 1945 she married the love of her life, John H. Weber, in Sharon, MA and they spent the majority of their years in Mansfield, MA. While living in MA Genevieve worked for the Foxboro Company and retired from there at the age of 62. She and her husband moved to Milton, FL to be close to their daughter and her family in 1982. Her husband passed away in 1993.
Genevieve was an active member of Christ United Methodist Church. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, cooking, reading, traveling, and spending time with her family. She was a sweet, quiet, loving woman who looked at the positive in people and lent a helping hand whenever she could. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends, but knowing how loved she was and what an incredible journey she had brings comfort to all.
Funeral arrangements were prepared by Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home. Services will be at Christ United Methodist Church in Milton on Saturday, June 2, 2018. There will be a viewing from 10:00-11:00 am, followed by a service at 11:00 am. Interment will be at Serenity Gardens in Milton, Fl. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Emerald Coast Hospice or the food pantry at Christ United Methodist Church.
