We have lost a very special person, one that we will never forget. 
How well I remember the pleasant times we spent in family reunions at German and Isabel’s home, listening to old stories about life in Cuba. I learned more about the Cuban countryside from German than from  all the history books I have read. He told the stories in such a way you felt you were there living the experiences with him.
German was a self-taught , learned man. Always willing to tackle problems, reaching their solution gave him great satisfaction.
A good friend , a giving person, and a dedicated family man. God bless German.

Dad was truly a great Man. As my one  and only Father-in-Law, he accepted me into the family. I am truly grateful for that. I will always remember his guitar skills and the many times we jammed together. As a grandfather he showed my sons the simple use of tools. I personally saw  my sons as they hammer a nail into a piece of wood .When I ask for your daughter hand in marriage . You simply said," If she say Yes, then I'm okay with that." When Martha and I got married and was time to leave your house. He told me " Take care of my daughter." Dad, I believe I did just that for over  30 years.

My best memories from Pensacola were when my dad would go over to your house and his eyes gleamed, that was his older brother. So many stories Abuela Felicia and my dad told me, apparently they hit in trouble a lot 🤣. My dad would follow him and Fermín around because although he was the youngest he looked up to them so much and they would teach and protect him. I know we were not always there, but the memories and times we were, counted so much for me and my family. I love you all and am so blessed to have had such beautiful memories with my aunts, uncles and cousins. To be honest I didn’t even know he was my dads cousin until I was 12! He always spoke of them as his brothers and they always treated him like a brother and my sisters and I as their nieces. Tio Manchito was always so happy and welcoming, and Tia with the velveeta cheese & bugles 🤦‍♀️ All I can say is that Im proud to be a Fernandez and the memories and moments we all spent together will be with us all… I know my dad is reunited with his brothers and that brings me peace, I hope it does the same for you. There’s so many memories I have of my uncle . His home is where I spent the majority of my vacation when visiting from Dallas.  I remember most times pulling up in the driveway I could see him working back in his shed. He was always like a father to me same as all my dads brothers.  He was so laid back , always a smile on his face a hard worker and devoted husband and father.  
My teen years in Pensacola I spent with Martha and Greta . Greta and I were always wanting to go out and I was always the one who had to ask permission. Although 90% of the time his answer was  NO all it took was a smile and a please sometimes 2 pleases,  for him to change his mind.  
When it came to special family events in Dallas there was never a time that he wasn’t  there. Celebrating my birthday’s , my wedding and my sons special birthday he was always there with us creating beautiful memories.  I love you Tio, you will always remain in my heart forever.

Always remember the special times we shared camping at Fort Pickens and him and all the brothers playing their guitars and singing.
His Laugh was clear and simple he always brought out the best in you.
He loved playing his Suduko puzzles and  he loved to hear about what was going on in your own personal life. 
A wonderful celebration in heaven with all his siblings who are also missed and loved and his parents, cousins and friends.
God has received a beautiful Soul.

Our family will truly miss his spirit for life.

I have very fond memories of my cousin Manchito.  I remember him as a kind, gentle man. I recall back in Guantanamo  in the early sixties, him along with my other cousin Cucho, driving my Dad and I, all over the city in a Jeep trying to find a dentist to take care of my tooth ache.  I recall when he,  Isabela , Germancito and Marta used to drive from Pensacola to Miami in a VW Bug. He would take my brother Jorge, my cousin Felo, and myself to the old Crandon Park Zoo in Key Biscayne. All seven of us stuffed in the VW bug.
I also recall how much respect and love he displayed to my Dad, his Uncle. And BTW, he also had the best hair in the Fernandez Clan! Rest in Peace cousin Manchito .

Loved listening to my uncle play the guitar. You will always be in our hearts.
