1916-2014
Gladys Dean Simmons went to be with the Lord on Jan. 23, 2014. God let us have her for 97 wonderful years, which we are all so thankful for. Her spirit will live on there was only one of her, never to be replaced. She was adored by her family and friends. Even strangers were drawn to her. She is survived by her son, Jim Simmons; daughter Linda Gail Pitman and daughter Tanya (Firm) Cole, her beloved sister and best friend, Joyce Waters; grandsons, Cliff (Lisa) Cole, Randy (Dawn) Pitman; granddaughters, Donna (Bill) Harwood, Vicki (Tom) Westcott, Krystal (Sheldon) Palmer; nephew, Jimmie Waters and close family friend Amy Cordray. She also has six great grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was a member of Whitfield Baptist Church, First Missionary Baptist Church-no Milestone Baptist Church.Visitation will be from 10:00 am till 11:00 am at Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home. The funeral will begin at 11:00 am at the funeral home with burial to follow at Pensacola Memorial Gardens. Associate Pastor Josh Stacy will be officiating.
