Herman Clarence Miller

Herman C. Miller "Bing", 93, of Pensacola Florida, formerly of Francestown, NH and Gulf Breeze FL, died on December 22, 2014 after a period of declining health. He was born in Francestown on April 11, 1921, the son of Mary E. (Woodbury) & Arthur J. Miller. Bing graduated from Peterborough High in 1939 and attended the University of New Hampshire for 2 years before joining the Army in 1942. He received an Honorable Discharge in 1946 as a Technical Sergeant. After the war he returned to Francestown and married Dorothy Leland "Dottie" and raised 2 sons. Elected in 1948, he served as the Town Clerk for 45 years, and Treasurer for 28 of those years. He worked as a mechanic in Greenfield and Bennington, NH, retiring at age 62. He enjoyed skiing, tennis, and golf. He was a member of the American Legion and a Past Master of the Mason's. After Dottie's death in 1993, he eventually moved to Gulf Breeze Fl. in 1995 and became reacquainted with Barbara Frohock Conn, whom he had dated in college before the war. They have enjoyed dancing and trips around the country for 19 years. They have been residents in the Veranda of Pensacola for the last 3 years.He is survived by John Miller and wife Ingrid of Punta Gorda, FL, formerly of Windham, NH, Gerald Miller "Gerry" and wife Sandy of Hampton, NH, four grand children and five great grand children, many nieces and nephews. He was also supported by Barbara's Family which includes Melinda Henry of Fl, Barbara Shifrin of Texas, Ruth Conn of Washington, and Dan Conn of Virginia, 7 grand children and two great grandchildren. Will be missed not only by family, but also by many friends. He was always outgoing and loved to make people laugh.After cremation, a service will be held at 2 PM on January 7, 2015 at BAYVIEW FISHER-POU CHAPEL, 3351 Scenic Highway, Pensacola, FL, 32503.Committal will take place in the Spring in Francestown NH, where he will join Dorothy.
