

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Ida Lovenia DuBose, age 76, of Pensacola, Florida. She passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, following unexpected health complications after a medical procedure.
Lovenia was born on October 18, 1949, in Monroeville, Alabama, to Carcel and Nevada DuBose. She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1967, attended Virginia State University, and built a meaningful career as a healthcare professional until her retirement in 2018.
Lovenia was a devoted mother, grandmother, family matriarch, caregiver, and friend. Throughout her life, she gave generously of her time and strength to care for those she loved. She also participated in the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, remained active with Booker T. Washington High School’s Class of 1967, and supported church activities and services.
She will be remembered for her deep dedication to family, generous spirit, sense of humor, kindness, and willingness to help others. Her presence, guidance, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Lovenia is survived by her children, Jerome DuBose and his wife, Bettie, and Yolonda DuBose; her grandson, Caiden DuBose; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and special friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, aunts, and uncles.
A family and public viewing will be held on Friday, July 17, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Eastern Gate Memorial Gardens Chapel, located at 1985 West Nine Mile Road, Pensacola, Florida 32534.
A private graveside memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Attendance is by invitation only.
Subsequently at 11:30 a.m., a repast will take place at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, located at 3600 N. Palafox Street, Pensacola, FL 32503.
