

Born in 1926 near Prairie Hill, OK; the youngest of 4 siblings. Delvin Smith, Velma Beard, and Bruce Smith.
Predeceasing J.F. are three ladies whom he loved without reservation, to include spouse Frances Rhames married 1948-1959; spouse Doris Hookham married 1960-2007; and his beloved eldest daughter Stephanie Mobley Marks.
He leaves 3 children, David (Olga) Mobley, Jay Mark (Zina) Smith, Monique (Kevin) Smith Holland, and son in law Jimmy Marks.
Six grandchildren, Jason Montgomery, James Marks III, Alexander (Britney) Mobley Marks Deana (Brian) Martin, Lauren & Kaylee Smith, and great grandson Gaitlin Ty Martin, all mourn his passing.
He loved much, gave more, and touched many lives; having a whimsical and positive outlook for all circumstances. J. F. is a World War II Veteran who served in the occupation forces in Japan. Teaching youth in Sunday school was one of his favorite activities. He passed his love of nostalgia and antiques to many family members and friends.
Pastors Laura Weant and Riley Richardson will officiate during funeral services, at Myrtle Grove United Methodist Church on Thursday, December 4, 2014. Visitation is 12pm to approximately 12:45 pm, service 12:45-1:25 pm, and brief interment ceremony with military honors at Barrancas National Cemetery at 2 pm.
