1940 - 2014
James W. Green passed away at West Florida Hospital in Pensacola, FL on May 24, 2014. He was born in Missouri. He moved to Cocoa, FL where he graduated from Cocoa High School. After high school he served honorably in the United States Air Force. After his service in the Air Force he attended the University of Florida in Gainesville, where he received his degree in Electrical Engineering. During this time he married his High School sweetheart, Beverly L. Hook, and accepted a position with Gulf Power Company in Pensacola, until his retirement.
His wife predeceased him along with his brother, Wesley Green. Survivors include his partner, Betty J. Cook; son, Mark A. (Misty) Green; grandson, James; three granddaughters, Chelsea, Shelby, and Madison; three brothers, Stanley, Bob and John. James had a true lifetime friend from the USAF, Don Lawyer.
A memorial graveside service with inurnment will be held at Barrancas National Cemetery on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at 11am with military honors. Oak Lawn Funeral Home & Crematory has been entrusted with arrangements.
