James Edward Raines

1925-2010

James Edward Raines, age 85, passed away Friday, September 17, 2010 at Baptist Manor in Pensacola, Florida.

Born June 7, 1925 to Walter Herbert Raines and Connie Arzonia Raines of Evergreen, AL, James served in the Unites States Navy for 21 years before retiring in 1973.

Mr. Raines is preceded in death by two sons: Christopher Raines and James Edmond Raines. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Edna Albritton Raines, and four children: Terry Raines and his wife Barbara, Tammy Duval, Kim Bartley and her husband Rick, and Dara Priest and her husband Bryan. He also leaves behind one sister, Elizabeth Pitts, one brother, Robert (Bobby) Raines, 11 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.

The visitation will be held from 10-11am on Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at Oak Lawn Funeral Home. The service will begin at 11am and the burial will take place at Barrancas National Cemetery at Pensacola Naval Air Station at 11:45am.
