James E. Roe, age 97, died peacefully at home on July 2, 2020. He was born January 5, 1923, in Logan County, West Virginia. He was a retired steelworker.

He was a member of East Brent Baptist church for many years. He loved to golf and was a good bowler. He scored a perfect 300 game at the age of 76.

"Jim" is survived by two daughters and two sons and his loving caregiver of over 20 years, Melody Norris.

A private graveside burial will be held.

Earnest was my Uncle, my Mother's brother and he loved her very much ,
Louise Edith Roe Hartman she left us in 2011.
Earnest was a fun loving person to be around. Want to say thanks to the lady that took care of him for so many years. Thank you.

Aside from all the fun and laughter Jim always stirred up around here, one of my fondest memories of him was every time he came over to eat and said the blessing he always began, “And now our most gracious, Heavenly Father...” It was just so humble and sweet...my other favorite memory was soon after he moved up here, we were out in the yard with him and Donnie and I joined him in singing “What A Day That Will Be” together in 3 part harmony. ❤️ He will be missed...
