He was born November 23, 1937 in Pensacola to the late Lewis V. and Hazel A. Ward. Graduated Pensacola High School 1955. On December 21, 1957 he married Evangeline Hughes of Pensacola, and they enjoyed 63 wonderful years together.
During his life Jim worked with his father at Ward’s Builders Supply Co, before becoming a general contractor, but later found he really enjoyed teaching mathematics. He taught at Brentwood Middle School, Pensacola High School, and taught for over 30 years at Pensacola Junior College. He was of the Messianic faith and loved to study God’s Word.
He is survived by his wife, sister Julie, sons, Jim (Alice), Jeff (Karen), five grandchildren, Josh (Rosie), Jeffrey, Jenny, Joel, Jesse, and one great-grandson, Amos.
Visitation will be at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel December 29, from 1:00 to 2:00, a private graveside service will follow.
