Jason Michael Halterman, 43, passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2020.

He was born in San Diego, California on June 9, 1977, and was raised in Jacksonville and later Middleburg, Florida. Jason attended Venetia Elementary School, Doctors Inlet Elementary School, Ridgeview Junior High School, and Middleburg High School, graduating with the Class of 1995. During his time at Middleburg High School, he was involved in the JROTC program and also played for Middleburg High's football team.

Jason enlisted in the United States Army in 1999 and finished his basic training at Fort Benning, Georgia. After serving his country and receiving an honorable discharge, he went on to work for the Florida Department of Corrections. Afterward, he started his own small business, serving as the owner/operator of a multi-vehicle trucking company, and later worked as a long-haul truck driver for FedEx and delivery driver for AZUMA Rentals. From 2011,

Jason called Pensacola home, and he lived in the Warrington area with his longtime girlfriend, Miriam Dandeneau. He had a great sense of humor, strong loyalty to his loved ones, and a passion for Harley-Davidson motorcycles, and was a fixture at many popular motorcycle rallies across Florida. Jason was also a card-carrying member of the American Legion Post 240 and Loyal Order of Moose Post 557, both in Pensacola. Last but not least, it cannot be left unsaid that Jason was a very proud and doting father who was very supportive of all of his daughter's endeavors, such as her award-winning cheer competitions.

Jason is preceded in death by all four of his grandparents; his aunt Patricia Cribbs; and his cousin Amanda Hines. Jason leaves behind parents James Michael Halterman, Sr. and Bessie Janet Halterman of Pensacola; a daughter, Addison Rose Halterman, with ex-wife Renee Westfield, both of whom live in Rome, Georgia; and four siblings: Kimberly (James) Lynn of Dayton, Ohio; Stacy (Keven) Kohrt of Huxley, Iowa; Clifford (Christina) Oram of Cantonment, Florida; and James “Michael” Halterman, Jr. of Valrico, Florida. He also leaves behind aunt Sharon Mrock of Casselberry, Florida; uncle Richard “Buddy” (Sallie) Dauphanis of Vilano Beach, Florida; uncle Austin Hines of Pensacola, Florida; uncle Bernard Halterman, Jr. of Arlington, Virginia; lifelong friends such as Kellie (Robb) Miller of Orange Park, Florida; Robert (Jeannie) Dopson of Middleburg, Florida, and many, many more people whose lives he touched.

There will be a viewing for family and friends and a celebration of life will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2020, from 5-7 p.m. at Oak Lawn Funeral Home, 619 N. New Warrington Rd., in Pensacola.

Jason was an Amazing Man. He was loyal, kind and compassionate. Jason Loved his Mom, Dad, siblings and his Beautiful Daughter Addison, with every ounce of his being. He was a Loyal and True Friend. A Kind, Caring Compassionate Man. These are traits that he came by honestly by having such an Amazing Family. It is with great honor that I was welcomed into his Family and treated as if I was one of their own.
Ride well in Heaven My Friend, Until We Meet Again. I Love you Always and Forever.
