Jerauld Rivais Thompson 85, was born December 18, 1935 in Pensacola, Florida to Colley B. and Marie Elizabeth Rivais Thompson. He was called from this earthly home to join our Father God in Heaven on February 27, 2021. He was a native of Pensacola, grew up in East Hill, went to Pensacola High School and played football, went on to play football and graduate from Florida State University. While in college, he was a Golden Glove Boxer. In his younger years, he was a life guard on Pensacola Beach, avid tennis player and golfer, He was a founding member of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church on Pensacola Beach where he raised his family. He was a volunteer fire fighter. He was an active member of St. Anne’s Church for over 25 years, where he loved to sing in the choir, and made many friends. He was a Knight of Columbus.
Jerauld was preceded in death by his parents; Collie and Marie Thompson, brother; Ronald Thompson, two sisters: Marie Gossman, Elizabeth Hale and one daughter; Jamie Leigh Thompson.
Left to cherish Jerauld’s wonderful memory will be his beloved wife of forty-four years; Jackie Thompson, one son; Jay Thompson and wife Kelly, three daughters: Jeanne Hanson and husband Tim, Tina McKeown and husband Andy, Nik Hicks and husband David, one grandson; Jansen Hicks, four granddaughters: Racheal Drury, Sarah Brewer, Lydia Vogel, Carmen Hicks, one great granddaughter; Summer Sandy, two great grandsons: Benjamin Vogel and Elijah Vogel, along with many extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
Celebration of Life services for Jerauld Rivais Thompson will be held 12:00 PM, Friday, March 5, 2021 at St. Ann Catholic Church. The family will be receiving guests for visitation from 11:30 AM until time of service at 12:00 PM on Friday.
Memorials may be made to honor the life of Jerauld “Jerry” Rivais Thompson with donations to St. Ann Catholic Church.
The family would like to express their dearest gratitude towards Dr. William Howe, his staff and our numerous Hospice care nurses for the most compassionate and constant care.
