Jimmie Lee Bell passed away after a long battle with cancer at his home Saturday morning July 13, 2013. He will be greatly missed!

Jimmie was born August 30, 1942 in Pensacola, Florida to Chester and Lois Bell who have preceded him in death.

Jimmie is survived by his wife, Bonnie Bell, who he met in Houston, Texas; one son David Bell (Wichita Falls, TX); 2 daughters Tawnja and Traci Bell (San Antonio, TX) He has 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren and one brother, Herbert “Sonny” Bell and his wife Andrea ( Doyline, LA). He has numerous nieces and nephews in Louisiana, Florida and California.

He joined the Air Force in 1960 and was stationed at Sheppard AFB, Wichita Falls, TX. He started out being selected for a new program doing electrical work on Titan Missile silos. While in the service he participated on softball and volleyball teams for a number of years. When he left the service he was an electrical craftsman supervising industrial/commercial construction projects.

All his life he loved fishing, boating and hunting. It didn’t matter whether it was salt water or fresh water fishing he had a tackle box for both. He belonged to the Northwest Bass Association and participated in many tournaments.

Jimmie could fit into any crowd, and loved helping people. He had a kind and gracious spirit. He had a wonderful positive attitude and when people asked him for help he was always very responsive and he would say “That’s easy and if it doesn’t work we will make it work”, he could do anything. He loved having get-togethers with family and friends. Jimmie was an amazing cook whether it was outdoor grilling or in the kitchen.

A Memorial Service will be at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel, 3351 Scenic Hwy, 90E Pensacola at 10:30 Wednesday July 17, 2013. The family will host a catered reception one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation in Jimmie's name be made to a cancer research organization of your choice. Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.

Dear Jimmy

You and I will meet again
When we're least expecting it
One day in some far off place
I will recognize your face

He was a very good man. I am still in shock to hear this but I am also content to know that He is finally relieved of his physical suffering.

He had a wonderful life and the best we can do is to pray for his eternal happiness.

I pray for Bonnie and also admire her courage for supporting him throughout his struggles.

Uncle Jimmy will always be missed. I am sorry I can't meet him again but I will always cherish meeting him and will always pray for him. He had a great mission in this lifetime. Life is eternal and I am sure he has already born in a very good family for his next mission.

Take care of yourself. I know how close you were to Uncle Jimmy. I had experienced this pain when my grandfather died in 2010. Lets cheer for Uncle Jimmy and be happy that he is at better place now, free from pain and suffering.

Bonnie and family: I am so sorry that you are going through this difficult time. One thing I do know about this wonderful family after almost 24 years is that you love each other and you have a tremendous capacity to pull together to support each other when times are good and bad. I love you and continue to pray for you all.
