John Frank Kolodziej, Sr., 67, of Milton, Florida, died Thursday, January 06, 2011 at a local hospital.
John was born July 06, 1943 in East Chicago, Indiana to John Charles Kolodziej and Stephanie Burczak Kolodziej. He served in the U. S. Army Reserves in the 1960’s. John was the owner and operator of Dairy Queen in Whiting, Indiana before moving to the Pensacola area in 1989.
He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed shooting, metal detecting and was a member of the Escambia River Muzzleloader’s Gun Club.
John is survived by his wife, Cookie Kolodziej of Milton, FL; son and daughter-in-law, John F. Kolodziej, Jr. and Olivia D. Kolodziej (nee Parker) of Pace, FL; daughter and son-in-law, Susanne Elizabeth Pruzin and Robert Pruzin of Chesterton, IN; grandchildren, John W. Kolodziej, Robert J. Pruzin, Andrew N. Kolodziej and Ava Elizabeth Pruzin.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel.
Interment will follow at Bayview Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
