

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Linda L. Pallin, Daughters Lauren Pallin Fuller (Michael) and Lisle Pallin Ryden (Anders), sons John Todd Pallin (Stacey Brooks) and Eric Timen Pallin (Shannon), grandchildren Bradley Carrigan Liam Pallin and Kate Pallin, brother Donald Pallin and sister Ruth Bankston (Andrew). He is predeceased by his parents, Leonard Pallin and Elizabeth Pallin, sister Judy Berg, and sister-in-law, Nancy Pallin.
John was born in Chicago, Illinois, on October 16, 1934. He lived in nine places before he graduated from East High School in Memphis, Tennessee, where he excelled in all sports, especially football. He attended the University of Michigan, where he obtained a B.S. and M.S. in physiology. While at Michigan, he was on the football team for two years before an injury ended his football career and an active member of Alpha Tau Omega. John pursued a US Army internship where he served as a rotating intern at Letterman General Hospital in San Francisco, as a flight surgeon in the US Army at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, and later as a flight surgeon in Qui Nhon, Vietnam, from 1965 to 1966. After returning from Vietnam, John completed a surgical and ENT residency with LSU Medical School at Charity Hospital in New Orleans.
John received the Vietnam Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, and the US Army Commendation Medal.
John moved to Pensacola in 1970 with his family to begin an ENT practice at the Medical Center Clinic.
John was a most devoted father who never missed one of his children’s sporting events, returning to the hospital after the event. Likewise, he was involved in the activities of his three grandchildren.
John was active in his community for many years. He was the president of the Medical Education and Research Foundation of West Florida and served as President of the Escambia County Medical Society in 1982. John also served as an associate clinical professor of ENT at LSU School of Medicine for 29 years.
After retirement, he volunteered at the St. Joseph Medical Clinic for many years.
