Johnnie M Sharpless

Johnnie M. Sharpless, 89, went home to be with our Lord, Friday, September 22nd, at home after a long illness. She is the widow of Winston G. Sharpless. They were together 54 years after marrying at a young age.

Johnnie was born in Pollard, AL to John and Avie Morris. She attended the Baldwin County school system and finished school at 16. Besides being a housewife and raising three children she had worked in the manufacturing industry.

Johnnie was a member of Cantonment Baptist church but has been unable to attend for many years. She enjoyed fishing the local rivers, bowling, and being with her family. Christmas and Thanksgiving were her favorite holidays and they sure were fun times in her home. She was a wonderful cook and was always cooking for family and friends.

Johnnie is survived by her sister, Louise Beasley and one sister in law, Mary Padgett (Buddy). She has also left behind all of her children: Rick Sharpless (Eva), Diane Harrell (Ray), and Randy Sharpless. Her grandchildren: Meredith Midlam (Kevin), Brooke Harris (Daniel), Megan Thompson (J.T.), Taylor Fiel (Jon), Philip Dunn III (Jodie), Mandy Howard (David), Christian Sharpless, Kim Halford (Lucky), Wendy Dennis, Heather Eaves (Chip), Michelle Sharpless. Johnnie had 17 great grandchildren,13 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her loving husband Winston G. Sharpless, her parents John and Avie Morris, her brother R.L. Morris and his wife Barbara; her brother in law Donald Beasley and all of her brother and sister in laws by marriage.

Kevin Midlam, Triston Midlam, Zachary Midlam, Clayton Dunn, Christian Sharpless, Treylon Watson.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Hospital or animal rescue of choice.

Funeral services will be at Eastern Gate Funeral Home, 1985 West Nine Mile Road, Pensacola, FL , on Saturday, September 30th. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, service will begin at 11:00 with interment to follow.
