Jose Leopoldo Murillo Mendez

Jose Leopoldo Murillo Mendez 60, of Pensacola Florida passed away on Monday January 29,2024 surrounded by family. Jose was born on June 08,1963, in LaCeiba, Atlántida to Aura Mendez. Jose moved to Pensacola Florida around 2000.

Jose worked in construction specializing in painting and wood framing for over 25 plus years. He was an all-around handyman. There was nothing he couldn’t fix. He loved spending his free time with his wife Shelly Mendez of 24 years and his grandchildren. Jose enjoyed life and never wasted the opportunity to live life to the fullest. Jose really enjoyed playing pool and being the life of the party at The Sleepy Hollow Bar. Jose had a heart of gold and would help in any way he could.

Jose was preceded in death by his mother Aura Mendez, his grandmother Maria Mendez, his two brother’s Ildys Calderini and Jose Armando Mendez and other family members.

Left to cherish Jose memories will be his wife of 24 years, Shelly; daughters, Aura Murillo, Claudia Murillo, Scarlett Vallecillo, Karen Isabel, Heather Quick, and Ann Quick; son, Jason Quick; sisters, Fronia Mendez, and Elsa Calderini; brothers, Jario Mendez (wife Danna Mendez) and Jorge Mendez (wife Alicia Garcia); grandchildren Mya Quick, Jessica Quick, Jada Quick and Konnor Bessman; two great- grandchildren, Major and Ayla; eight nephews Kaleb, Kain, Kairo, Jorge, Armando, Jaylen, José, and Josue and three nieces, Selena, Jennifer, and Samantha. Jose also leaves behind many extended family members and a host of wonderful friends. Jose will be missed tremendously.
