Joseph "Joe" Thomas, aged 83, of Pensacola, Florida, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2026, surrounded by the love of the family he built and cherished.
Born in Pensacola on June 3, 1943, Joe was a lifelong resident who dedicated his life to service, hard work, and above all, his family. After serving honorably in the United States Air Force, Joe returned to his hometown of Pensacola, where he began a long and dedicated career with Southern Bell, BellSouth, staying on through its transition to AT&T until his well-earned retirement.
While Joe was proud of his service and work ethic, his greatest legacy will always be his role as the heart of his family. He lived by a simple rule: family came first, without exception. If anyone needed anything, Joe was the first to show up. He held a special, soft place in his heart for the youngest members of the family and had a natural, gentle way with babies, finding immense joy in holding newborns and watching his family grow across generations.
Joe was preceded in death by his beloved parents and his five brothers.
He leaves behind a legacy of devotion and warmth in his surviving family: his 3 daughters; 6 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and another great-grandchild whose arrival will carry on his memory.
