Joe was born November 19, 1933 in Koenten, Alabama to Joseph V. Wood and Mary Elizabeth Curry Wood. He moved served in the U. S. Air Force and moved to Pensacola in 1958 from Monroeville, Alabama. Joe was a good husband and father who loved being with his family.
Joe is preceded in death by his father and mother and brother, James Albert Wood.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Louise Duncan Wood; son, James Gregory Wood; daughter, Jennifer Elaine Wood; sisters, Virginia Harper and Chana Faigl.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel.
Graveside services will be held at Barrancas National Cemetery at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 28, 2018 followed by interment will military honors. The funeral cortege will depart the funeral home at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Covenant Care, 5041 North 12th Avenue, Pensacola, Fl 32504.
