1926 - 2022
Julia Ophelia Rushing, of Pensacola, was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 9, 2022. She was 95. She passed away of natural causes at home surrounded by her loving family.
Born on June 15, 1926, Julia was a native of Montgomery, Alabama, the daughter of Edward and Beulah Poe.
Julia was the beloved wife of 63 years to Lloyd Rushing, who was reunited with our Lord in 2007. Along with her husband Lloyd, Julia was preceded in death by her son, 2nd Lt. James Monroe Rushing, U.S. Marine Corp., who received a Silver Star for his bravery in battle and who was killed in action in Viet Nam in 1968.
Julia is survived by two sons, Dwyke and Edward; two daughters, Patricia Richardson and Cynthia Rasmussen; ten grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
