Katharina Wilma Hieronymus Shoop, 83, of Milton, Florida was granted her angel wings and went to be with the Lord on February 18, 2013. In her final days she was surrounded by her family cradled in love. She was born on January 6, 1930 in Darmstadt, Germany, the daughter of Katharina Weber and Phillip Hieronymus. She is survived by her husband, David Clyde Shoop. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Liselotte Leutner. Left to cherish her memory are her husband and children Janette Quigley, Dotty Amos, Ronald (Tami) Shoop, Nancy (David) Hess, David (Vonda) Shoop and Timothy (Kathleen) Shoop; 2 brothers Phillip and William Hieronymus and one sister Ursula Fischer. She has 12 grandchildren: Jennifer Hergott, William Amos, Jason Seymour, James Amos, January Gray, Jared Shoop, Matthew Amos, Adam Quigley, Janelle Quigley, Joshua Shoop, Caleb Shoop, and Victoria Katharina Shoop, and 12 great grandchildren. Katharina and David raised their 6 children throughout Germany and the US. They moved to Milton, Florida in 1994 to be closer to their children. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She had a contagious smile and a playful sense of humor. She enjoyed doing ceramics, quilting, and was an exceptional bowler. She had an unwavering faith in the Lord and was an active member of her church, Eternal Trinity Lutheran Church, of Milton, Florida. A celebration of her life was held February 19, 2013 by her husband, children and family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Covenant Hospice of Pensacola or the Alzheimers Family Services of Pensacola. Easterngate Memorial is handling the arrangements. “Mom you will be greatly missed and we all love you. Rest in Peace.”

I will never forget your loving smile and the twinkle in your eyes. You will always be in my heart when I see brightly colored flowers, hummingbirds in the spring, and butterfly's floating on the wind. Walk with the Lord for I know you are whole again and will be a guardian angel watching over all of your family here on earth. I will miss you dearly. Love you always.

Our mother was the most kind, compassionate person, she raised more than a handfull of us dealing, managing and overcoming our trials and tribulations on a daily basis. She would always seem to make everything okay for us and god knows she made us laugh, a lot! We traveled the world together as a family, it was usually pretty exciting and sometimes very comical, but it was always filled with her closeness, love and joy. Thats the way I will always remember her.

I did not know your mother Tim, but I know you and have an understanding about how you honored your mother and respected what she has taught you throughout your life and how that has brought you to the man you are today. My prayers are with you and all of your family for the loss of wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, friend and confidant.
