Katharina Wilma Hieronymus Shoop, 83, of Milton, Florida was granted her angel wings and went to be with the Lord on February 18, 2013. In her final days she was surrounded by her family cradled in love.
She was born on January 6, 1930 in Darmstadt, Germany, the daughter of Katharina Weber and Phillip Hieronymus. She is survived by her husband, David Clyde Shoop. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Liselotte Leutner.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband and children Janette Quigley, Dotty Amos, Ronald (Tami) Shoop, Nancy (David) Hess, David (Vonda) Shoop and Timothy (Kathleen) Shoop; 2 brothers Phillip and William Hieronymus and one sister Ursula Fischer. She has 12 grandchildren: Jennifer Hergott, William Amos, Jason Seymour, James Amos, January Gray, Jared Shoop, Matthew Amos, Adam Quigley, Janelle Quigley, Joshua Shoop, Caleb Shoop, and Victoria Katharina Shoop, and 12 great grandchildren.
Katharina and David raised their 6 children throughout Germany and the US. They moved to Milton, Florida in 1994 to be closer to their children. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She had a contagious smile and a playful sense of humor. She enjoyed doing ceramics, quilting, and was an exceptional bowler. She had an unwavering faith in the Lord and was an active member of her church, Eternal Trinity Lutheran Church, of Milton, Florida.
A celebration of her life was held February 19, 2013 by her husband, children and family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Covenant Hospice of Pensacola or the Alzheimers Family Services of Pensacola. Easterngate Memorial is handling the arrangements.
