

Kathryn Ann Carpenter, 68, was born on November 30, 1957, in Iron River, Michigan, and passed away on September 14, 2026 at her home. A longtime resident of Pensacola, Florida, Kathryn will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother whose steady devotion to family shaped the lives of those closest to her.
Kathryn was the daughter of Joseph and Geraldine Schober, and she carried their legacy forward with quiet strength and care. She worked at Pensacola Naval Air Station as a supply and warehouse expert, bringing reliability, knowledge, and diligence to her work. She was also a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, where her faith and sense of community remained an important part of her life.
Those who knew Kathryn recognized her patience and thoughtfulness in the simple joys she cherished—especially her enjoyment of puzzles. She was also remembered for her love of animals, a tenderness that was evident in the companionship she shared with her dog.
Kathryn is survived by her son, Patrick O’Brien and his wife, Courtney, and by her grandchildren, Shelby and Sean O’Brien, Chris Lee Rhino, James Joseph and Jeannie Schober. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Geraldine Schober; her sister, Sandy Plog; and her dog, Mackey.
Visitation will be held at Oak Lawn Funeral Home, 619 New Warrington Road, Pensacola, FL 32506, US, on September 19, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. A funeral service will follow at Oak Lawn Funeral Home on September 19, 2026, at 5:00 pm.
