Hospice 3/11/2021 after a brief illness. Chip was born in Rhinebeck, NY to Kenneth F. and Gladys Mae Shaffer. Chip was a dedicated Trucker for 50 years; you can thank Chip for many of the products in your stores. Chip worked for CRST for over 10 years, and AMStan Logistics for over 20 years. Chip finished his trucking days at JB Hunt in 2015.
Chip and his wife Lee moved to Pensacola, Florida in July, 2016 to enjoy the sunshine, beaches and their retirement together. Chip had an avid desire for Mac n’ Cheese that never waned. If you knew Chip, you knew he had a wonderful sense of humor making everyone laugh. Chip had the ability to talk to anyone making the world his friend. He had a wonderful lust for life and lived it always pushing the envelope. He never complained about things bothering him, always said he was fine even if he wasn’t. He loved his family and friends unconditionally. Chip was always willing to help anyone. At Christmas, Chip could be found with a glass of Jack Daniels in his hand while relaxing in the recliner. All who knew Chip, knew his love of trains, especially at Christmas. There was always a train set up under the tree.
