

Leisa Cook Churchill, 66, succumbed to a near 2 year battle with Clivial Chrondosarcoma, a rare skull-based cancer, on the morning of June 22, 2026 at her home. She was the wife of Alvord (Bucky) Churchill III. They shared 8 years and 8 months of marriage together.
She was born Leisa Gay Cook on August 27, 1959 to Robert Lee Cook and Vaudell Mitchell Cook in Mobile, Alabama.
Leisa was a retired RN, most recently as a Hospice Regional Clinical Director for various companies in the southeast region and traveled extensively before retiring due to declining health. She started her RN career in the cardiac field before transitioning to Hospice related care. In 2021, she was a co-founder of L&L Executive Adult Daycare (LLEAD) with Lisa Hopkins-Shiver in Pensacola. She attended school in the Shelby County Alabama area and graduated Shelby County High School in 1977. She attended nursing school in the Selma Alabama area to earn her Registered Nurse certification.
Leisa attended Liberty Church Blue Angel Campus and was a member of the hostess volunteer team where she met her future husband Bucky, who was also a parking ministry volunteer at the church.
Leisa's hobbies and passions were entertaining family and friends with high tea parties with the girls, holiday celebrations, especially Christmas,Thanksgiving, Friends-givings and Alabama Football tailgate parties.
She enjoyed Alabama football games, ocean cruises to the Bahamas, snorkeling at Princess Cay, vacations in the Pigeon Forge area, and Dollywood at Christmas time.
Leisa is survived by her husband, Alvord (Bucky) Churchill III, her brother Ronnie and wife Sherry Cook,
nieces: Lacey and husband John Gray, and Julie Cook, great-nieces: Caroline Gray and infant Jillian Cook, great-nephew: Jacob (Jake) Gray, and great-niece-in-love: Anna Beth Gray, sisters in-love: Melissa Forman Offenburger and Misty Lane, also canine furbabies, Dodge and Dolly and feline furbabies, Possum and Roscoe.
She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Robert and Vaudell Cook, brother Jimmy Cook, and canine furbaby Booger.
Visitation will be held at Oak Lawn Funeral Home, 619 New Warrington Road, Pensacola, FL 32506 on July 6, 2026 from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm, followed by a Funeral Service at the same location from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm.
Committal will take place at Barrancas National Cemetery, 1 Cemetery Rd. Pensacola, FL 32508 on July 6, 2026 from 2:00 pm to 2:30 pm.
A reception meal will be held starting about 2:30 pm following the committal service at Liberty Church Blue Angel Campus, 2221 S. Blue Angel Parkway, Pensacola, FL 32506.
