1947 - 2014
Leonard “Jack” Weaver passed away on January 3, 2014. He was born Jan. 18, 1947 in Rockmart, Georgia. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Polly Jowers Weaver; his daughters Amber Anson husband Eric, and Andrea Weaver; grandchildren Tori, Camryn, and Connor and his sisters Neal Burleson and Holly Cooper. He is preceded in death by his son, Ted, his mother Lottie Payton, brother Leon, and sister Starr Stephenson.
He was severely injured while serving his 3rd tour with the Brown Water Navy in Vietnam and was a purple heart recipient. He met the love of his life while recuperating at the Pensacola NAS hospital. He later graduated with a degree in radiology and worked in diagnostic imaging at West Florida Hospital for 27 years.
He touched many lives both professionally and personally with his humor and caring nature and will be missed by all who knew him. His greatest joys were his family, especially his grandchildren and his Boston Whaler.
A life well lived with passion, joy and love.
Visitation will be held Wednesday Jan. 8th from 5-7 at Oak Lawn Funeral Home, 619 North New Warrington Rd., Pensacola, FL 32506. Graveside services will be held at Barrancas National Cemetery on Thursday Jan. 9th at 11:45.
