Linda was born July 29, 1943 in Greenville, Texas to Charles D. Daniel and Dorothy Sue Daniel. She moved to Pensacola in 1972 from Dallas, Texas. In her lifetime she has been a librarian and accountant before retiring; but her main occupation was the one she loved best and that was wife, to the late John David Matthews. Linda was an avid crocheter with donations of her work going to local hospitals and St. Jude’s. She was a member of Elks Lodge #497 on Pensacola Beach.
She is survived by her sons, James D. Matthews II and John Scott Matthews; sisters, Holly Sue Riker, Dede Morton Bray, Jane Morgan and Gail Cummins; two grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m., Monday, May 30, 2016 at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Monday.
