She passed away in Covenant Hospice surrounded by her family on March 5, 2024. She was born in Wallingford, CT on September 17, 1925 to the late Harry C. Goodwill and Ida May (Lewis) Goodwill. She graduated from Poughkeepsie High School and worked at IBM making
ammunition during WWII. She Married Vernon L. WIggins, Sr on February 19, 1944.
Mrs. Wiggins worked at Sears and Roebuck on Palafox Street. She also worked at the Citizens and Peoples National Bank on Palafox Street. Later she worked as a Rural Carrier for the USPS until her retirement in 1987, to be able to care for her husband who was in the later stages of Alzheimer's Disease. After his death she spent her time working on various committees at Ferry Pass United Methodist Church and caring for her granddaughters Katie and Kristie after school.
She remained a faithful member and an active worker at Ferry Pass UMC until it was closed. She lived the last 3.5 years with her daughter and granddaughter, Kristie, sharing many happy memories.
She was predeceased by her husband, Vernon L. Wiggins (1987), son Vernon L. Wiggins, Jr (2012) and an infant son (1956). She is also predeceased by her sister Margie G. Misbach (Paul), Robert L. Goodwill (Jessie), Harold C. Goodwill (Muriel), and Infant sister Marion Goodwill (1914).
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children Travist C. Wiggins (Nan), Amy Wiggins, and Robert E. Wiggins (Brenda). She leaves to cherish her memory her grandchildren Charles E. Wiggins (Tracy) and their children Ashton, Brock and Bailey; Tiffany Wiggins, Daniel C. Wiggins (Kelly) and their children Aubrey and Haddie; Katie T. Starkenburg (Rod) and their children Arianna and Addison; Michael Wiggins, and Kristie Thames.
Visitation will be on Monday, March 11, 2024, from 4:00 - 6:00 P.M at Bayview- Fisher Pou Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at 11:00 A.M at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel.
