Luther Earl Young, of Pensacola, died peacefully on Sunday, June 29, surrounded by family. Luther was born February 18, 1935, in Bay Minette, Alabama, and was raised by his grandmother, Louise Lovett. Following service in the U.S. Army, he settled in Pensacola, where he worked as a salesman for Gulf Paper Company and St. Regis Paper Company. He later established Young Packaging Supplies, which became a family business.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Marlene; sons Scott (Laura) Young and Lance Brendan Young (Jim Summers); grandson Cody Luker; and a host of family and friends.
Burial will follow a brief graveside service at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 2, at Bayview Memorial Park.
