Lyla Armentrout Windham passed away December 07, 2018. During her lifetime she enjoyed living and traveling with her Army husband and their three children to Germany, Japan and other areas in this country. She attended Corry Chapel and Pine Forest Methodist Church. She retired after 31 years at Warrington Junior High School and Escambia High School.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John; her parents, Joe and Virginia Armentrout and her brother, Frank S. Armentrout.
Lyla was a very proud charter, active and honorary member of Beta Sigma Phi in Pensacola.
Her survivors include two daughters, Ginny (Steve) Duvall of Mobile, AL and Dianne (Tom) Kerr of Charlotte, NC; one son, John (Cathy) Windham, Jr. of Folsom, CA; four grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; two nieces Linda (Larry) Jacobs, Francis Armentrout and one nephew, John (Mary) Armentrout.
Visitation will be at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel on Thursday, December 13, 2018 from 12-2 pm with the funeral service to follow. Interment will follow at Bayview Memorial Park.
The family expresses sincere appreciation to the staff and caregivers at Homestead Village.
