

Mardell R. Wise of Pensacola, FL passed away on Friday August 29, 2025 at the age of 93. She was born on August 1, 1932, in Keyser, West Virginia. She grew up in Cumberland, Maryland and then returned to Keyser, West Virginia in her senior year. Mardell graduated from Keyser High School in 1950 and then attended Potomac State College.
She first worked at Brookley Air Force Base before transferring to the Naval Air Station. After 34 years, she retired from service as a contracting officer and small purchase division director for Naval Air Supply Center. During her career she received numerous outstanding awards for supervisor performances.
She was actively involved as a member of the board of directors for the Washington High School Quarterback Club during the 1994 State Championship run.
She is preceded in death by her, mother, Virginia Ayers; husbands, “Jake” Williams of Mobile, AL and Robert E. Wise of Pensacola, FL.; and son, Mark Williams of Pensacola, FL.
She is survived by her children, Lala Low of Pensacola, FL and Ty Wise of Pace, FL; stepchildren, Becky Shields of Laurel, MS and Greg Wise of Mobile, AL; grandchildren, Lauren Soderberg of Lakeland, FL, Mark C. Williams of Pensacola, FL, Ty Wise Jr., Kendall Wise, Grant Wise and Madelyn Wise of Pace, FL. Also, Special Treasures, Jessica Merritt and Kadie Petty of Pensacola, FL.
Mardell was a tireless worker that always put her children and grandchildren first in her life! She always had a great sense of humor and made everyone around her feel loved!
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel on Saturday, September 13th. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM and Chapel Service will begin at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in Bayview Memorial Park.
