

On Sunday, June 2, 2013, Margaret Louise Pahl Merritt joined Jesus her Savior and a host of friends and relatives awaiting her in heaven. She was 95 years young, having been born in Sultan, Washington on March 16, 1918.
Mrs. Merritt had been a long time faithful and dedicated member of Pensacola Baptist Temple and a current member of Bible Baptist Church of Pensacola. Through the years, many, both young and old, were blessed by her service to the Lord in Sunday School, VBS, Choir, and through her prayers for and giving to the church missions outreach.
Margaret’s hobbies were reading her Bible, crocheting, knitting, ceramics, sewing, jewelry making and flower gardening.
She and her husband, Marvin, operated New Way Cleaners for over 20 years, developing many loyal customers and friends along the way. After a fire closed the cleaning plant, she enjoyed being able to combine work with ministry to children and their parents, for the next 15 years, as an aide to pediatrician, Dr. Thomas Jenkins.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years Marvin Ernest Merritt; father, Edward Pahl; mother, : Louise Liedtke Pahl Godlesky; Harry Pahl.
Mrs. Merritt is survived by two daughters, Sandra L (Felix) Smith of Mississippi, Pamela I (Dr. Peter) Ruckman of Florida; son, Grady M (Vicki) Merritt of South Carolina; seven grandsons, Troy L (Michelle) Smith of Mississippi, Benjamin G (Stephanie) Merritt of South Carolina, David W Merritt of West Virginia, Joel R (Laurie) Merritt of South Carolina, Jeremy L (Valerie) Huggins of Nevada, Bryan S (Rebekah) Huggins of Arkansas, Michael A (Lydia) Huggins of Florida; two granddaughters, Taffi P (Tracey) Lewis of Alabama and Tracey L (Lynn) Byrd of Mississippi; great grandchildren, Benjamin has Linnea, Benjamin, Russell; Joel has Caleb,Ezra; Taffi has Brock (Joanna), Nakita; Troy has Brooke (Kevin), Paige, Chad, Emily; Tracey has Hannah, Daphney, Lydia, Ashton; Jeremy has Calissa, Katelynn; Bryan has Moriah, Naomi, Jacob; great-great grandchildren, Nakita has Caden, Caylee Rae.
Pallbearers will be Troy Smith, Chad Smith, Brook Moss, Benjamin Merritt, David Merritt, Joel Merritt, Lynn Byrd and Kevin Kokubun.
Singers for the service will be Kevin and Kristene Griffin. Bro. Michael Huggins and Dr. Peter Ruckman will officiating.
Her desire was that you know Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and will someday be in Heaven with her.
