Margaret Elizabeth (Pecora) Yates

Margaret Elizabeth Pecora Yates, 83, of Pensacola, FL, passed away October 8, 2022. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Margaret was born May 2, 1939, to Marcilien August and Mary Elizabeth Pecora in New Orleans, LA.

Margaret graduated Pensacola Catholic High School in 1957. She later met the love of her life, Billy Ray Yates, and they were married on July 4, 1959. Together they had six daughters, to whom Margaret devoted her time throughout their many duty stations in Maine, Virginia, Texas, and Florida. She was a devout member of Saint Anne’s Catholic Church (Bellview) since the family’s relocation to Pensacola in 1978.

Margaret is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Billy, and daughter, Deborah. She is survived by her daughters Mary (Mike) Chandler of Clarksville, TN, and Pat Gregory, Peggie Yates, Tina (Tim) Dunson, and Cathy Yates, all of Pensacola, FL, six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

Family will receive visitors from 4 - 6 p.m. Sunday, October 16, at Oak Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 8 a.m, Monday, October 17, at the funeral home; interment will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery at 9 a.m.
