Mariah Renee Cooke, 51, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2026, at VITAS Hospice at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Mariah was the beloved wife of Kevin Cooke and the loving mother of her son, Jaxson Wesley. Together, Mariah and Kevin shared 11 years of life, including eight years of marriage and many wonderful memories along the way. Mariah was born in South Bend, Indiana, to Larry Hagan (Linda Hagan) and Jan Cooper-Hagan (Gregg Crandell). She later made Pensacola, Florida, her home, where she graduated from Catholic High School.
Mariah was a woman of strong faith who believed deeply in family, friendship, service, and helping others. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and a member of the American Legion. She had a generous heart and was always ready to help, whether she knew someone personally or not. Mariah also had a special gift for bringing people together. She loved making plans, organizing gatherings, and making sure everyone was included and cared for. Her family affectionately called her the “Cruise Director,” a name that suited her perfectly. She found joy in bringing people together and making sure everyone had what they needed.
Mariah loved being outdoors and, especially, being near the water. She enjoyed going to the beach and making frequent trips to Orange Beach with Kevin. She loved watching her son, Jaxson, fish and play golf, and she took great pleasure in being there to enjoy the things that made her family happy. Mariah and Kevin also shared a love of Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville hotels and enjoyed watching the Blue Angels flight demonstrations together. And, of course, Mariah had a wonderful collection of flip-flops—a fitting collection for someone who loved the beach and the sunshine.
Mariah and Kevin also shared their home with their beloved dogs, Pappi and Wiggles. Pappi had a particularly special bond with Mariah and loved her dearly. The love she gave to her dogs was just another reflection of the caring and affectionate person she was.
Mariah was preceded in death by her brother, Brian Hagan.
Above all, Mariah treasured her family.
She is survived by her husband, Kevin Cooke; her son, Jaxson Wesley; her parents, Larry Hagan and Jan Cooper-Hagan; her stepdaughter, Paula Riffle (Patrick Riffle); and her grandchildren, Felicity Riffle, Silas Riffle, Mavis Riffle, and Wallace Riffle. She is also survived by her grandmother, Nancy Franklin; her brothers and sister, Josh Hagan (Ginger), Jeremy Hagan, Adam Hagan, and Sara Poston (Jake); her aunts and uncles, Robert Hagan (Susan), Greg Hagan (Judy), Edy Thiele (Denny), Molly Kenny (Rick), Issac Hagan (Cory), Donny Zastrow (Susan), Anna Hagan, and Ron Simpson; and her nieces and nephews, Joshua Hagan, Peyton Hagan, Ella Hagan, Cole Poston, Trenton Poston, Brian Hagan, and Chloe Hagan.
Mariah leaves behind so much more than memories. She leaves behind the love she gave so freely, the people she brought together, the laughter and adventures she shared, and the countless ways she made life a little better for those around her. Her kindness, generous spirit, love of family, love of the outdoors, and unmistakable “Cruise Director” personality will be deeply missed. Though her absence leaves an immeasurable void, the memories she created, the lives she touched, and the love she shared will remain in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mariah's memory to the horse rescue she held so dear to her heart, The Painted Horse Ranch Rescue, or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. These donations would honor Mariah's generous spirit, her compassion for others, and her love of hearing about the happy endings at the rescue.
