Marilyn Bebe Lazear

Marilyn Bebe Goldstein Lazear passed away in Pensacola, FL, on September 21, 2023, with her loving son by her side. Daughter of Rose and Norman Goldstein, Marilyn was born and grew up in the Bronx, NY, with her sister Thelma Greenberg (died 2021).

At 17, Marilyn met her husband, Robert Peter Lazear (died 2002), and married him in 1952. They went on to have two sons, James Walter (Mollie) and Dennis Scott (Alison). Marilyn’s life centered around raising her sons in a well cultured, well mannered and well fed way. The family traveled regularly all over the world, spending summers in Denmark, Canary Islands and more.

Marilyn learned in 1981 that her little family would blossom; she had nine grandchildren within ten years. She loved her bubbelas with every ounce of her being (Hyatt, Andrew (Cristin), Seth, Laura, Lindsey (died 1986), Rebekah, David (Tabitha), Naomi(Daniel) and Kathleen (Daniel)).

And, again, in 2008, Marilyn’s family continued to grow. She was over the moon when she started having great grandchildren. Lia, Olivia, Lyla, Jonathan, Asher, Sophie, Addison, Maksim (died 2014), Blair, Tessa, Nora, Camille, Gregory, Alec and Maddox. She spent every moment she could with her family.

Countless friends also brought immense joy to Marilyn’s life. Nina, Ted, Priscilla, Vinny, Louise, Lonnie and so many more were incredibly special to her and her family.

Marilyn spent countless hours volunteering regularly at the Pensacola International Airport’s USO, as well as at Gulf Breeze Hospital. She loved to take the bus to Biloxi with friends to play the slots, and made sure to teach her grandchildren how to gamble. She spoke with each of her dear sons at least once a day up until her very last.

Nizzy, we hope you are dancing amongst the angels while enjoying every second of giving Lindsey and Maks their turn to receive all of the love, joy and comfort you gave us.
