Mary Lou Faulkner (96) passed peacefully Monday morning November 25th, at Crown Health
Care (Oakwood) in Bay Minette, Alabama.
She was born April 26, 1928 in Fort Mills, South Carolina. She met her husband in Rock Hill,
South Carolina, and they later moved to Pensacola. She lived and worked in Pensacola for
most of her life except for a brief time period when they lived in Orlando and worked at Walt
Disney World. Mrs. Faulkner retired from the JC Penney in Pensacola. She was a member of
Ferry Pass Baptist Church until she moved to Bay Minette where she attended church at St.
Paul United Methodist Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Grady Eugene Faulkner, and their 21
year-old son, Grady Eugene Faulkner Jr; her parents, Walter T. Pope and Annie Laura
Blackwelder Knight Pope; four brothers, Walter, Ross, Lee, Richard, Benny, and Bundy; one
sister, Elizabeth; one half-brother, John, and half-sister, Polly.
Her memory will be treasured by her daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Pete Wilkes; her two
grandchildren, Tammy Grace (Tim) and Jason Wilkes, all of Bay Minette; three great-grandchildren,
Alex Grace (Kayla), Madison Robinette (Ben), Savanna Wilkes, and one great great-grandchild,Leah.
She will be remembered as being always kind and thoughtful of others and for being a loving mother and grandmother. The family would like to express our heartfelt thanks to the caring staff at Spring Hill Hospice Care and Crown Health Care (Oakwood) in Bay Minette.
Graveside services will be held at Barrancas National Cemetery for immediate family.
