Mary Kathryn “Kitty” Stephens Pace, 87, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2022, at home in Pensacola FL, surrounded by family which included her great-granddaughter, Kathryn “Kitten” Paulk, named for her. Kitty was born April 27, 1935, at her Grandma Cochran’s home in Christie’s Chapel/Magnolia, AR to May Day Cochran and Joshua Noble Stephens. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Gloria Jean Stephens Dumas, and Betty Jane Stephens Jerry, both of El Dorado, AR; and one grandson Christopher Michael Singleton of Siloam Springs, AR. She is survived by son, Tommy (Joyce) Carroll Robinson of Pensacola, FL; daughters Orena “ Rene” Day (Larry) Tyson Singleton of Bella Vista, AR; and Terry Ann Tyson Shaffer of Pryor, OK; one granddaughter Jennifer Harper Wooten and four grandsons Kenneth Harper, Darren Paulk, Jayme Singleton, and Jesse Robinson and thirteen great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.
Kitty was a member of Salvation Ministries of El Dorado, AR. She loved working in the ministry and sharing the gospel with family and friends throughout the world. For many years she wrote newsletters under the title of “Wings of a Dove”. She published a book “One Rung Up the Ladder” under the name Mary Kathryn McDougal.
She is a past member of the South Arkansas Archaeology Society of South Arkansas University, Magnolia, AR. Her brave and adventurous spirit carried her across the country coast-to-coast, Canada, Mexico and Guam.
She loved gardening and being outdoors at her home in the community of Beulah where she lived for the past 20 years.
She will have a graveside service at Eastern Gate Memorial Gardens on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at 10:00am.
