Mary Mansfield Small

Mary Small passed away December 03, 2011 after a brief illness. Mary was the third of six children born to Frederic and Grace Mansfield. Mary married the love of her life, David, at the age of eighteen. Mary was happily married to David for forty-seven years. Mary retired from the school board after thirty-three years and worked her last eighteen years at Hellen Caro Elementary.

Mary was a loving mother to three, grand mother to eight, and great grand mother to seven, and sister to three siblings. Mary is preceded in death by her parents, brother (Steve), sister (Janie). Mary is survived by her husband, David, and three children: Jeremy & (Shon), Tony & (Carmella), and Darla & (Alfred) Bates. Mary is also survived by her brother, Craig Mansfield, and two loving sisters, Betsy Ruth and Judy McCall.

Mary had an extremely compassionate nature. She rarely put herself first and always was concerned about caring for every body else. Mary loved to work in her yard. She looked forward to every spring so that she could have her yard meticulously manicured and could keep dad busy cutting grass and transplanting flowers and shrubs.

The Family would especially like to thank Dr. Phillips and the staff at Sacred Heart Hospital Adult Critical Care Unit for the exceptional care provided in her last few days. The Family would also like to thank David McBurney for his sincere empathy and dedication displayed to the family during this trying time.

The family will receive friends on December 7th from 5-7 P.M at the Eastern Gate Funeral Home. A private funeral service will be held on December 8th at the Eastern Gate Funeral Home. Brother Ashley Stone of the Warrington Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses will be presiding.
