Mary Fritz Smith, 95, passed away on January 17, 2019. She was born on April 18, 1923 to Anthony E. Fritz and Katie Murray Fritz of Lake Worth, Fla. She was one of 10 children and was the only one who moved away from Fla. The only sibling living is Anthony Fritz Jr., of Lantana, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Although she was born and raised in Palm Beach County, she lived more than 30 years in Pensacola, Florida with her husband of 52 years, Francis J. Smith, who predeceased her in 2004.
Most recently, she moved to Lawrenceville, Ga. to live with her daughter and son-in-law. She leaves behind her three children, Janice Smith Masangkay (Gene) of Pensacola, Pamela Webb Stewart (Steve) of Lawrenceville, GA, and Frank Smith (Sue) of West Palm Beach, Fla.
She also had 5 grandchildren; Sheena Smith Real and Britni Smith Foulon (Vinnie) of West Palm Beach, Fla., Christopher C. Webb and Austin M. Webb (Allie) of Tarzana, California, and Brandon J. Webb of Morgantown, West Virginia. She was a great grandmother to Dylan Real, Haley Real, Bella Foulon, and Juliana Foulon of West Palm Beach, Fla., as well as Aidan R. Webb of Tarzana, CA.
Mary credits her wonderful long life to a daily pot of hot tea and good living. She will be missed by many and was a wonderful person.
Arrangements are being handled by Bayview Fisher-Pou Funeral Home on Scenic Highway in Pensacola, Florida. Viewing will be Sunday January 27th from 2 PM to 4 PM at the funeral home, and, a funeral service will be held on January 28th at 2 PM at St. Paul Catholic Church in Pensacola. Burial will be in Bayview Memorial Park following the service.
