

Mary Antoinette "Toni" Stitt, JD of Pensacola, Florida died Sunday August 21st, 2016 at Baptist Hospital. Toni was born on April 13th 1954 in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, and relocated to Pensacola, Florida in January 1963 where she lived most of her adult life. Toni was the daughter of the late Capt. C. Dan Stitt, USMC Retired, and Mary Feeney Stitt. She was preceded in death by brothers, Rodney Daniel Stitt and Lee William Stitt, of Pensacola and father Capt. C. Dan Stitt of Pensacola.As a military dependent, Toni attended many different Elementary schools including kindergarten in Albany, Georgia, first through third grade in Woodbridge, Virginia. After relocating to Pensacola, she attended Pleasant Grove Elementary School, Warrington Middle School, and Escambia High School in Pensacola, Florida. Upon high school graduation, Toni attended the University of West Florida, graduating summa cum laude with a Bachelors of Arts Degree. After receiving her Jurist Doctorate Degree from Florida State University Law School, graduating in the top 20 of her class, Toni honorably served as a Public Defender in Escambia County for twenty-five years before retiring. Toni belonged to Christ Episcopal Church of Pensacola and was a loyal and well-known member of Pensacola Yacht Club. She sailed for many years and performed volunteer work for the Innocence Project organization. Toni was an avid reader and world traveler. Survivors include her mother, Mary Feeney Stitt, her brother Jim Paul Stitt, her sister-in-law Tracie Worley Stitt and her favorite niece Abigail Galis Stitt all of Pensacola, Florida and her beloved cat, Katrina. A memorial celebration of her life will be held at Christ Episcopal Church, 18 W Wright Street of Pensacola on Friday August 26, 2016 at 11:00 am, and a reception to follow at Pensacola Yacht Club, 1897 Cypress Street. Mother Jessica Badcock will be officiating. Flowers are appreciated, however the family requests donations be made to Christ Episcopal Church in Toni's name.
